CLAMP Campus Detectives - Fluff! by Krisitn Huntsman (oneshot, humor) Suoh notices the lack of a girlfriend in Nokoru's life and Akira overhears their conversation. A short, cute, little piece, Fluff was one of my Fandom firsts in the CCD fandom and gave me a taste of the characters before I had to obssess over Nokoru and Suoh in the anime and manga series. The gay joke is done very tastefully and is very lighthearted. I remember one of my IRL friends pointing out this fic to me without even knowing I was into shounen-ai or yaoi.

Sweets and Liquors by Monica Shin (CCD/X, oneshot, shounen-ai, slight NokoruxSubaru) Like CLAMP Campus Detectives - Fluff!, this fic really stands the test of time. here Monica paints us a picture of Nokoru who is doubting himself after watching Kotori's death and finds a fellow sympathizer in Subaru. What else I like about this fic is the Nokoru/Suoh/Akira interaction, a couple of regular boys stuck in the more supernatural aspects of X. Very nicely done, the author keeps up the feeling of camaraderie between the three, and the Nokoru/Subaru interaction is sweet, too.

His smile slowly disappeared as he thought back to the events that had unfolded earlier at the campus. *How was I to know something like this would happen? Could I have known? Losing Kotori and Fuuma at the same time... poor Shirou-kun- no, poor Kamui- either one.* He stopped working and started to stare out at the lovely day. *The day is a little too nice... it's not at all the way it should look after all that's happened.*

Four Drabbles for the [livejournal.com profile] x_100 Love challenge by [livejournal.com profile] crazylittleme (drabbles, X) At times heartbreaking, silly, and just odd, these are wonderful drabbles.

Immortal, Life, Peace, and Hope by [livejournal.com profile] link621 (drabbles, X) These drabbles are little slices of pain, but so true to the series. Beautiful.

somebody loves you and take a picture-- it'll last longer by [livejournal.com profile] link621 (drabbles, X) *giggle* It'll take you a minute to read this drabbles, but so very worth it.

Caught Off Guard by [livejournal.com profile] second_remix (X, oneshot, shounen-ai, SxS) originally recced by [livejournal.com profile] tomomichi Seishrou drops by the Sumeragi's apartment. What to tell you about this fic? It's sweet, and fluffy. While you may not think about this side of Seishirou, the caregiver, you have to know that he's somewhere in there, even if only as a ruse to confuse Subaru. And what's to say that the ruse isn't based on a little bit of fact? That's my justification for cute!SeixSub interaction anyways. I just loved how nice and understated [livejournal.com profile] second_remix kept her/his fic, it's cute, but not sickeningly, and I could see it happening.

Seishirou gave the noodles one final stir before turning the heat down on the stove. The curry was simmering on a back burner, fragrancing the kitchen with warmth and spice. Over on the table, dishes were arranged, gleaming white in anticipation of the food they would soon hold. He had set two places, though he was pretty sure that when Subaru came home and found Seishirou in his apartment, the younger onmyouji would hastily kick him out unfed.

This probable outcome of the evening didn't bother Seishirou in the least. If he had wanted to cook for himself, he would have done it at his own apartment. But he knew that Subaru had been neglecting food recently, and besides, the chance to provoke his prey was not one he wanted to pass up.

The Language of Fans by [livejournal.com profile] aishuu (CCD/X, oneshot, gen) Nokoru thinks about what it means to be an Imonoyama through their fan language. Wow! [livejournal.com profile] aishuu is one of my all time favorite authors especially for how she can get right into a character and expertly describe their personal history and motivation. In the CCD manga, you don't know too much aout the Imonoyama clan besides that they produce brilliant offspring and are fabulously wealthy. [livejournal.com profile] aishuu's look into Nokoru here is poignant, expanding on some of the quirks you see in Nokoru in CCD and X and giving fascinating and plausible backstory for his family of eccentrics. It's just a terrifically put together fanfic.

Unless you're an Imonoyama, you can never understand what the fan means.

From birth, I remember being surrounded by them. One of my father's friends, unsure what to get the ninth child of the Imonoyama zaibatsu, commissioned a mobile to hang over my crib, one made up of intricate paper fans of various colors and sizes. It was hung just out of my reach, and I remember trying to catch them, always without success. It was a while before I developed enough depth perception to realize that they were placed beyond the grasp of a baby.

I remember that. I know most people don't remember being that young, but I am an Imonoyama. We remember things like that. My older brother Owaru claims to remember being in the womb, and we believe him. Imonoyamas don't lie, after all.

The Sakuranikomori by Evil Asian Genius [livejournal.com profile] eag (TB/X, oneshot, humor) What if Hokouto had been the survivor in her enconter with Seishirou? We all know that the one to kill the Sakurazukamori inherits his position right? So how would the cheerful Hokouto change by having to become a cold blooded killer? Not much apparently. Oh my, is this fic funny! From all the quirky oneliners, to the skewing of some of TB's more infamous plots points, [livejournal.com profile] eagbrings wrong to a whole new level. However, you can go along and enjoy the wrong, because the author has Hokouto's maniac cheeriness down pat. It's just one big roller-coaster ride, and I love how the author ends the story.

"Hokuto. What's going on?" Everything seemed to be a faint memory, something that happened to someone else. Subaru stared at his ungloved hands, and thought that there should be something different to them. But the smooth skin said otherwise, physically and spiritually.

"Nee-chan took care of the evil bad man!" Hokuto giggled, still shaking from the adrenaline rush. Her hands were still dabbed with blood from where she knifed Seishirou through his remaining good eye. A couple bullets through the head later and he was good and dead.

"Oh?" Subaru blinked.
