Feh. Too lazy to organize my older recs right now, so here's a newbie.

Double or Nothing by [livejournal.com profile] florahart on [livejournal.com profile] contrelamontre. Harry is mysteriously called back to Hogwarts during the summer holidays. It's H/D preslash and has Harry/Draco banter, which is always a plus.

The original Star Wars trilogoy has always been a soft spot for me and the Luke/Vader relationship in particular. Father and son just pull at my heart strings and I have read some fics that convey what I see between the two so well.

MJ Mink, author of such fics as The Road Home and Marooned write both Luke and Vader so well, that you think that her fanfiction are missing scenes from the original series or in the cases where she diverges from canon, that the AU is how it should have happened in the Star Wars universe. All of her fics should be read as the subject matter ranges between all aspects of Luke and Vader's life, from Luke growing up fatherless on Tatooine to Ben and Yoda discussing why Anakin had better be the one to come out alive after having his soul cleansed.

The Force Bond Series by KittandChips is an AU where Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru were killed when Luke was young. so Luke is adopted by an Inperial Senator from Coruscant. His father finds him there and the series deals with the two trying to live with each other in the Imperial capital. KittandChip's Luke is such a cute kid with regular kid problems and fears but still with a strong spirit. Vader is still Vader, but at the same time he is a father to a boy that is growing up and loves him. The two grow in the series while dealing with each other and the everyone else on Corcuscant.

Come What May by AJ is one of the only Star Wars slash fanfics that I'll reccomend. Not to say that there aren't hundreds of them, but I can't stand Han/Luke or Obi/Qui-Gon. I actually like Han with Leia and concerning the latter pairing, I can't for the life of me reconcile my inner Obi-Wan with Ewan McGregor and am in general repressing the creation of the Phantom Menace. Back to Come What May, here's the authors little summary: a series of vignettes exploring a relationship between the two greatest ever X-wing pilots. Set during the Original Trilogy. It's NC-17, so there's a budding romance and slashy goodness!

[livejournal.com profile] poilass, in my opinion is a minor deity in the X-Men fandom. She can write a mean Bobby and Hank. Whether it be angst like her two fics Dialouge and First, Do No Harm, light hearted comedy like the hilarious Bobby/Morph fic Changing Faces, or character pieces like her Rain, all of her fics are amazing insights into the the X-Men characters.

It Could Be Sunshine by [livejournal.com profile] tweezle aka N is the first in a WIP about the relationship between Jonothon Starsmore of Gen X and Bobby Drake. I always love Bobby, and his ability to see the humor in any situation.

I think I might be falling in love.

Hold the chorus of 'aws' please- I didn't say that this was a good thing. Quite the contrary, really. And no, I'm not being melodramatic about this. Allow me to explain…

In my line of work, romance rarely works out well. And for the record, I'm referring to my career as a mutant crusader and superhero, NOT as a CPA. (CPAs don't get a lot of action either, but for different reasons.)

See, the problem with always running off to save the world is that it leaves you precious little time for dating. And if you DO manage to get out of the house for social reasons, nine times out of ten you can't really relate to people who lead 'normal' lives.

You know, like CPAs.

N also did a good job speaking from Jono's point of view and voices his insecurities about being with the class clown of the X-Men as well as dealing with his mutation. Scene to remember: the shower scene. *fans self*

ETA: Links to later parts of the story posted so far: It's Only Rock'N'Roll and (I need to hunt down the others)

While you're reading N's stuff, hop over to her web comic Nice Hair which is a funny, little comic about Niel Gaiman and Tim Burton on crack.

Heroes and Circumstances by Ericka is a cute little Bobby/Remy fic.

Bobby coughed as if to clear his throat. He then looked down at his hand, as if going down a list. "Beast said I had all the looks of a surfer dude. Jean thought I was cute and then she hugged me, like, a lot. Scott told me not to worry about it. Warren mentioned the next time he came down we would hit the clubs. Rogue, well, she was quite vague and said something about a boy next door. And I don't wanna be a 'boy's next door'; they never seem to get the hot babes," Bobby explained, finally looking up at Remy. "Professor..."

"What de 'ell did you do, poll ev'ryone?"

"Yeah." There was a 'duh' hidden somewhere in that word, Remy was sure of it.

Feather Flight by Lunar

Sometimes villians aren't villians, sometimes endings aren't endings, sometimes redemption is just one wish away... if you have the determination to make it happen. An Alternate Universe, Kuja Continuation fic, spoilers abound, language, shonen-ai. (in progress...)

Lunar does a nice job creating a whole new world for Kuja to play in when he is literally dropped from the sky. All the OCs are a great supporting cast and the thing I love most is the history and scope of the whole world she created. From, the capital city to the enemies invading, everything is so very detailed and fleshed out to become its own little reality. A definite read if you have a soft spot for Kuja.

As one of my favorite pairings in the HP fandom, I am drawn to reading and weeding through a multitude of fics.

Deus Ex Machina by Silvia is an H/D humor ficlet.

Draco Malfoy is determined to defeat Harry Potter, through epic poetry.

"Malfoy," Millicent said, "What the fuck?"

"I'm composing an epic poem," he explained. The end of his quill was wet and dripping.

"An epic poem?"

Draco was firm. "An epic poem. It's a clever ruse to defeat Potter and his little friends once and for all."

"You're going to defeat them. With a poem."

"An epic poem," Draco said. He made a firm stab through the air in her general direction. "You're not picking up on my emphasis here."

And Now for Something Completely Differentis an H/D humor fic also by Silvia.

When Harry Potter woke up a girl, he promptly went back to bed.

I don't remember who, but I was recced this fic with just the first line too, and that was all I needed to know that was going to be a great read. Harry Potter wakes up as a girl one morning and reacts, or rather, fails to react to the change.

Drawing Circles by elysian is an H/D future fic.

Draco Malfoy has been captured by the side of Light and is being kept at Hogwarts. Harry Potter goes to visit him to ask his rival, why? Sorry, no quotes, as I can't find a few lines to properly convey the story.

For the Birds by [livejournal.com profile] blythely is a cute H/D pre-slash friendship fic. it's the first in a series of three ficlets chronicling how Harry and Draco get closer after their owls decide to nest together.

'Your... disgusting pet,' Potter looks pained, inbetween throwing up and crying. 'Has... interfered with Hedwig.'

For a moment Draco thinks that maybe his owl had developed a homicidal streak but then he follows Potter's gaze to a far corner of the owlery turret. Quetzal is there. So is Hedwig.

Looking like. Oh, no. Too delicious.

And that's it for this installment, anymore and it'll run too long. Until next time...
