evadne_noel (oneshots, parodies, humor) I think I've already recommended Evadne's LoTR Breadbox editions, but these follow in the same vein. If you're up for lighthearted fun being poked at the movie adaptations of HP, these are a definite read. Done in script style, these parodies offer hilarious play-by-play action while still being true to the story, enhancing and helping you relive the movies without having to break out the dvds to rewatch for two hours.

evadne_noel is just terribly clever and I love all her breadbox editions.

HARRY goes to get his WAND.

OLLIVANDER
I'm probably the second creepiest person in this movie, and
I'm in it for all of two minutes.

HARRY blows stuff up with various WANDS until he finds a WAND that doesn't blow stuff up.

OLLIVANDER
Curious, curious...

HARRY
I know I'm going to regret asking, but...what's curious?

OLLIVANDER
It's just that...your wand made the theme
music play. I've only seen one other wand
do that. And it belonged to You-Know-Who.

HARRY
Actually, I don't yet.

HAGRID buys HARRY HEDWIG THE OWL, who doesn't get her poor name said in the actual movie.

HARRY
Hagrid, who killed my parents?

HAGRID
Hold on, let me cue up the unnecessary flashback.

AUDIENCE
Mere exposition cannot hold my attention!
Look, there's a Junior Mint on the floor!

HAGRID
Here's your ticket, Harry. We've compressed
time and changed the date of your birthday.
Or you start school in July, your choice.
Either way, you're on your own.

HARRY
Okay, now I'm lost.

Thankfully for the movie, HARRY runs into the WEASLEYS, who help him find his train.

Older, Wiser, Sadder by

shalott (oneshot, gen, Harry, Snape) Harry goes to Snape to learn how to make the Wolfsbane potion for Remus. Wonderfully in character for both Snape and Harry, I especially enjoyed the Snape dialog. While shallot doesn't concentrate on any relationship in Older, Wiser, Sadder, Harry/Snape fans could consider this pre-slash as Harry seems to not mind spending long periods of time with the Potions master.

zionsstarfish (oneshot, gen, Draco, Harry) Sixth year, Draco finds a letters of Harry's from Sirius Black. This si truly excellent writing. ZS captures Draco perfectly. He's a vindictive little, ferret, but at the same time you can see his motivation and reasoning make sense in a Slytherin sort of way. He/she makes you feel for both Draco and Harry with stunning interaction between them and superb dialog. This story just gets to you on how the two of them might decide to set their differences aside and decide to talk. Beautiful. And I love the last, line; I'm a sucker for a good last line.

Letters To A Young Gentleman by

prillalar (oneshot, H/D) The collected correspondence of Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy. Snappy dialog in the form of letters and a clever plot twist. A quick, light read, but still thoroughly enjoyable.

The Ties That Bind by

dovielr (oneshot, slash, Snape/Lupin, warnings for bestiality) Written by the same author who wrote the wonderful Staffroom Seduction, this fic deals with Lupin and Snape in a preexisting relationship. Due to a potions accident, Snape and Lupin are forced to stick together for a month and is a wonderful look into how the two see each other with wonderful characterization from each. The story-telling is beautiful with everything flowing smoothly as well as being realistic and fleshed out well. What I love best about this fic, is the the little, small details that the authors writes beautifully, such as Remus' astonishment at Severus testing out one of his pupil's potions. Just a great fic all around and a must for any Snupin shipper.

Severus combed his fingers through his still moist, unruly hair before answering. "I think we ought to see how much of Longbottom's brew we can salvage, and then we should examine his cauldron to try and determine exactly why it decided to spew its contents all over me. And finally, we should see the headmaster."

Remus nodded again, smiling. Most people would have expected Severus to do nothing more than fume or brood for the remainder of the afternoon because of the situation in which they now found themselves. But most people really didn't know him. He would see no reason to wallow in misery over their dilemma, and certainly not when there was still work to do. Always practical, his Severus.

Dreamless Sleep by

srichard(oneshot, slash, Snape/Lupin) Okay, there's no excuse for this one. It's smut plain and simple. However, it's well-written, hot smut, so give it a shot.

On Her Majesty's Wizarding Service. by

nothingbutfic (oneshot, complete, possible sequel, parody, humor) Harry Potter in the role as Bristish secret service agent and all around homosexual player. Terribly funny poking fun at fandom and 007 cliches, Abaddon does a brilliant job delivering a truly clever fanfic.

"...And you didn't realise he was actually a secret agent set out to main and murder you most horribly?" The service's receptionist and coffee girl was none other than Ginny Weasley, that bright and bubbly redhead Harry knew from his old school days.

"No," Harry said, shrugging. "I thought all that shouting was just dirty talk."

"What shouting?” Ginny asked, bending over to dig out the relevant files from the cabinet behind her desk.

"All that 'raus, raus, shwinehaund' stuff," Harry commented absently. "I mean, between that and the leather pants, jackboots and metallic skull insignia who would ever have thought him to be a member of the elite NeoNazi organisation, Der Kinder?"

"Right," Ginny replied hollowly, and passed him the file before backing away. “H is ready to see you.”

Poor girl, Harry thought, and headed into the briefing room to meet H. I bet she's just overwhelmed by my charm. No-one's been able to cope well since I came out. Although it has given me even more fanmail.

The Care Of Infants part 1 and part 2 by

stellahobbit (complete, Slash, Harry/Severus) A curse from Voldemort regresses Harry to infancy. Snape must protect him while the Order tries to find a way to reverse the spell. While I try to avoid Snarry fics, this one was extremely well done. The parts with Severus taking caer of a young Harry were adorable, but handled intelligently and the way she progresses the two into a relationship was plausible and didn't rub me the wrong. Worth being checked ou, especially if you love young Harry fics as I do.
