OMG, I have a lot of HP fanfics that I want to rec. I'm very, very tempted to do just a list and wash my hands of them totally, but where would the fun (read torture) be in that?

Open Doors by zionsstarfish (oneshot, H/D) An oldie, but a goodie. Written for the contrelamontre Flash Forward challenge. After the War, Draco Malfoy finds a cat at his door. Not to spoil all the wonderful scenes and lines of this fic, I won't give too much away, but zionsstarfish just has a way with words and the Harry/Draco relationship. Told from Draco's POV, you get a real feel for what he is thinking and feeling. While there were great lines, what parts weren't written for comedic value, moved me.

Salt Water Tide by louiselux (oneshot, gen, Severus Snape) Snape is suffering from an affliction. His past may help him find the remedy. Snape/Lupin, pre slash. Angst. Very well written Snape and scenes from his past and the ending leaves hope for the future. Waah! louiselux writes like a dream.

A string bag of tangerines sat on the shelf above him. Their sharp scent wafted down and he could imagine their waxy skin peeling back under his fingers.

Mixed Motives by srichard (oneshot, Remus/Draco, Severus/Draco, Lucius/Draco implied, kinky-ness) I usually don't recommend fanfics that are so heavy on the sex, but when I read Mixed Motives I had such a gut reaction, I knew I had to share it with everyone. It's not just the fact that I feel for Draco, because let me tell you, they are not nice to him, it was what I felt for all the character. The emotion of what the War will do to the wizarding population and the lengths people will go for what they believe in. Not just a smutty story.

Remus turned his head, looking at Severus. "Dumbledore doesn't know about this, does he?"

"He doesn't want to know about this," Severus said quietly. "Lupin, we can end this. Here. Tonight."

"By breaking a seventeen-year-old boy." But Remus' voice was more meditative than anything.

"Yes."

Mine and Snape's Vocation by Gillian Middleton (HP, gen, Snape, Harry) Another (but never boring) SnapeIsHarry'sFather!fic. However, this fic does not fall into the realm of cliche and make you want to poke your eyes out. Her Harry is an insecure, real, little boy who is so lovable that you can see how he can even worm his way into Snape's heart. The Snape/Harry interaction is just so beautiful to see, because you can see that Snape understands Harry because he relates to the abuse he has suffered whilst at the Dursleys. I've been following this series from almost when it first came out and all I can do is hope the next arc comes out soon.

"Who wants to ride your poxy bike!" Harry shouted. "I have a better present coming, you'll see! Tomorrow, at Christmas."

"Yeah yeah," Dudley sneered again, throwing one leg over the three wheeled contraption and sitting down with a pleased grunt. "That's what you said last year. Only then the big baby thought Santa was gonna show up. Which one, Harryhead? The one from the store in the High Street, or the one begging for coins on the corner?" With that he pumped the pedals with fat little legs and careened down the hall, ringing the shiny bell stridently.

Harry was looking up at the tree again, but no expression of wonder was on his face now. Snape forced himself to turn away from the sight and follow the brat down the hall. A quick look confirmed his suspicions, a narrow old mattress on the floor and a box of tattered garments indicated this was where the boy slept. He sighed and shook his head. And people wondered why he used to torture Muggles for sport? The hideous creatures didn't even have it in them to be decent to an orphaned child in their care.

Still, he told himself as he left the overheated house and breathed gratefully of the cold wet air outside. The boy wasn't being starved or beaten. He had a warm place and food on the table. All those ignorant Muggles needed was a bit of a reminder of who they had in their midst and that they had a certain duty to live up to.

After all, just because he personally didn't want the boy it didn't mean someone else had the right to mistreat him.

An Obscene Obsession by jitter_bug (oneshot, slash, het, H/D) Draco has an oral fixation that centers around the Boy Who Lived. While being slightly fanon!Draco, Draco seems to be very in character. I also like how jitter_bug portrayed Draco and his sex life. While Draco is attractive, not everyone at Hogwarts is dying to get into his pants and Draco is not an all knowing sex god. Draco has to learn and his life is not a bed of roses. Waah! Can't think anymore, that's it for my review.

Draco Malfoy has a Problem.

It's an incredibly frustrating and confusing problem. So much so, that it deserves to be capitalized. That's how he thinks of it in his head, when he can bear to think of it at all; his Problem.

It is not his fault, of course. In Draco's world things are never his fault and the Mudblood only beats him in Transfiguration because McGonagall favors her and Harry Potter only catches the snitch because he cheats. Draco's Problem is Harry Potter's fault, because in Draco's world most things are.

Draco has heard the first step is admitting you have a problem and usually he would never admit to having a fault much less one as bizarre and horrible as this one, but even he can see that it's gone too far.

Draco Malfoy has an obsession with Harry Potter's cock.

And he wants it to stop.

Share and Share Alike by katemonkey (oneshot, Fred/George) What it's like being Fred and George Weasley. OMG! Squee inducing fic. If you don't like twincest, do not despair, because this is a PG fic. The main point Share is what life is like for Fre and George being twins. There's quirky, adorable flashbacks and explanation for how close the twins are to each other and you can just see how everything would just naturally flow into them being together in the end. Excellent writing by katemonkey.


Lesson of the day: don't let your residents give you a shot, if you never, ever drink. I feel odd.
