Hikago Recs: Kuwabara Honinbo style

A couple quick Hikago recs, Kuwabara Honinbo flavored.

Drunken Promise by issen4 (oneshot, gen, Kuwabara, Hikaru, Akira) Touya Akira finds his rival drunk and in conversation with Kuwabara Honinbo. Has anyone else fallen in love with Luce Red's Kuwabara? *crickets chirping* Or is it just me? Regardless, I really want to see this fic in the manga or anime. Her Hikaru and Kuwabara are both tricky characters (one by keeping secrets, the other literally) and you fear what the two of them would do if they joined forces. These lines just killed me. Hikaru is going to emerge as a proponent of the dark side of the force, you know he is.

As he approached, he could hear Shindou say, "Oh, yeah! Did you know, if you play with your left hand it makes you look clumsy, and then your opponent underestimates you?"

"That reminds me of the time I played with Maeda... I played with both hands. It confused him." His partner gave a rumbling laugh. "Lost by eight moku."

Shindou pointed at him. "You're a wicked old man," he shook his finger severely, and suddenly sounded more enthusiastic.

New Leapings by issen4 (oneshot, gen, Kuwabara, Hikaru, Waya) A scene alluded to in Luce Red's All Strides Lengthen in a Race. How Hikaru and Kuwabara started up their stalkerish relationship in Strides (at least on Kuwabara's part). Again with the fangirl love on my part. <3, much, much love.

Thanks for the recs! There's nothing quite like finishing HnG and realizing how hard it is to find good fic to make you climb the walls. I love how people are starting to take it up again now that I've watched/read it. *pats self on back*

I have one rec you'd love(a series of recs, actually). It's the epic crack crossover(Tenipuri, Good Omens, Angel Sanctuary, Clampverse, Yami no Matsuei) from Emily, Em, and Crys (alltrees, lysapadin, and ladycrysiana). Oh, thanks for the rec. One question: is the series very dependent on whether or not you've seen/read all the series named? I've only read Tenipuri and a bunch of CLAMP, so will I get it? Also is it spoilerific? Should I check out the series first, so I don't stab muself with a fork from spoilers? Just curious.

Tenipuri is the main series and the major source of characters. Angel Sanctuary provides the impetus that moves the crack plot forward so you should know a bit about AS (basic knowledge of archangel, demons, etc. will also suffice). Readers should know Tenipuri characters. The in-jokes are funnier if you're familiar with all of the series, but it's hilarious regardless of whether you've seen/read everything. With the exception of Eriol, there's only one piece with Clampverse characters(no specifics, not even names).

I wouldn't call it spoilerific. There are minor spoilers for who the characters are. But nothing more than you would get from the first chapter/episode of a series if you decided to pick it up. You get some events and some subtext, but there's no mention of how events happened. And as an experienced anime fan, you'd be able to spot a sibling complex from a mile away, so no spoilers there. ^_~ Go for it. It's great fun. And read the comments at the bottom of the main page. They're fabulous. *grin*
