Yaru Arc bybranchfic (series, complete, Tezu/Ryo) Squee with the mad fangirl love! Tezuka is Ryoma's buchou and at the same time his own person which is what some Tenipuri authors fail to convey. alltrees shows this and how Tezuka while different than the Prince of Brattiness still shares his love for the sport. It builds off of tennis as the two progress in the years even while attending different schools. A nice slow buildup to a satisfying Tezuka/Ryoma relationship.
Also,alltrees is Emily Ravenwood, who writes in the FMA fandom, and whose fics I love like mad.
The Seigaku Years by JannZ (oneshot, slight MomoRyo) A Ryoma POV that flows though his years in Seigaku Junior High. Nice Ryoma voice too, you get a sense for Ryoma's love of tennis and his thoughts on the other regulars. A real gem.
He was twelve going on thirteen and nothing else mattered more than tennis. Maybe his debut in Seigaku's tennis club was the spectacular arrogance some still muttered about, maybe not. Maybe he was presumptuous for a first-year, maybe not. As long as he played, it was enough for him.
PoT 2005 CALENDAR (A) scanned byleviosa8 It makes you wonder while watching Tenipuri, who thought up of the idea to put bishounen in obviously blatant pairing poses, so that the fangirls can conspire and drool? That person must be a genius, because boy does it work. The scans that leviosa8 provides are teh pretty and much with the lovin'. Plus she provides quirky commentary on the different shots that is so amusing.
Now I have this urge to find some Saeki/Fuji fics. Hmm...
tongue-tied bytwo_if_by_sea (Momo, Ryoma, oneshot) Momoshiro introspective piece on his relationship with Ryoma. I like the way the author writes this, her Momo is fleshed out and the writing is just super. Momoshiro is a clueless goof ball and you feel like he's the Momo right out of the series talking to you in this fic.
The thing is Ryoma is just the right height for Momo to rest his elbow on.
At first it may seem like Ryoma's height puts him in a disadvantage. Momo realizes soon enough, with everyone else, that Ryoma, clever as he is, uses this as a way to unnerve people. Ryoma doesn't bother looking people in the eye too much, forcing other people to look down or bend down or something to that extent. Sometimes Momo finds himself slouching when standing next to Ryoma just so he can be level with him.
Strings byscandalous_chib (oneshot, shounen-ai, InuiKai) I just love when authors can just crawl into a character's head and give you fanfiction of what they are.
Ever since Inui was a small child, he had to do something that would keep his mind busy. Before he began his ever continuous search for data and his love of tennis, he had string.
He would sit and be the silent child that he was told to be, and he found the only amusement he could in string. From the hem of his shirts or the linings of his pockets, he would find threads, and he would pull at them. He would wrap them around his tiny fingers and pull until they cut into his skin, until they snapped.
Tying them together, he would make longer strings, knots, chains, patterns. Counting, knotting, working his fingers to weave something out of nothing. It kept him busy, it kept him thinking, it kept him quiet.
Plus the InuiKai! I <3 well written InuiKai. Bad OOC InuiKai kills kittens.
It Was More Than That byscandalous_chib (oneshot, yaoi, InuiKai) superuke!Kaidoh asks Inui why he never showed up for the date he asked him to on that fateful phone call.
"Eh? Kaidoh! Chotto..." Inui was quickly at his side again, putting a hand on Kaidoh's shoulder.
The junior shrugged Inui's hand off his shoulder. "Tch! Inui-Sempai is cruel."
"Kaidoh! What- where are you getting this 'date' notion?"
Frustration had a tendency to trigger anger in Kaidoh, and he whirled on his elder, a hand going to grab at his Regular jersey.
"You called me! You said, 'It's a date'! There was construction, I couldn’t believe that you said it. I even called you back, and you said, 'Aren't you surprised?' I was! I didn't understand! I… It… It took forever to get to the street courts… I-I… Why a date, Sempai? And why weren’t you there?!"
Ryoma-sempai bysakurazuka_jae (Hazue, Ryoma, Kaidoh, Momo, gen, oneshot) It's probably very incomprehensible and useless when my recommendation for a fic is OMGSQUEE!, but that's pretty much all I want to say about the fic and leave it as is. Since I feel guilty about that I'll elucidate by saying that it's about Hazue being offended by Ryoma's oblivious/bratty attitude when Hazue reaches Seigaku Junior High. Good Hazue fic lights up my life like the light of a thousand suns. *sigh*
Random question: Anyone know how to block out text like when people want to put up spoilers and you have to highlight it to see it?
