Welcome to the Real World by IamtheLizardQueen (complete, novel length, H/D) A post-Hogwarts future fic. After Voldemort has been defeated, Lucius Malfoy is trying to distance himself from his Death Eater past by running for office. The only problem is that he needs to have a perfect family. Draco is not willing to join his father and is kept locked in Malfoy Manor for two years. When Draco mangaes to get free of his father, who does he turn to, but the Wizarding World's hero?

Draco Malfoy knew the only place he had any chance of escaping from his father was in the muggle world, for his father had far too many contacts in the wizarding world who would gladly turn him in. As he turned his broom in the direction of London proper, he thought it was merely because it was the closest large city. After journeying through the bitterly cold sky for most of the day, it had come to him that he had chosen London for a specific reason. He was going to find the one person who might possibly help him. After all, Harry Potter had saved the world, what was one more soul to him?

Teacher's Pet by Didodikali (gen, some het, complete) A delightful fanfic that reads like a fairy tale. Didodikali illustrates and writes such a simple and quirky tale that you get a giggle while at the same time feeling like you could read this to your child or younger sibling. It begins with Hermione trying to become an animagus and winding up stuck in her form and being found by one, Seveus Snape. Go, read it. I can't recommend this fic enough.

in the closet by Michi M. Chu (complete, future-fic, slash and some het) I don't want to spoil the story, so I can't really say what it's about, but please give it a try. Well written and engaging, it will stay with you.

First off, I just want to say that Harry is a capital bloke, and don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise. I knew that right from the start, beginning with that day on the Hogwarts Express. I was only eleven at the time, but I remember it as clearly as if it were yesterday. I was hungry and wanted some sweets, but I couldn’t afford them. Do you know what he did for me? He practically bought the entire cart for me, that’s what he did. Absolutely amazing. That’s the kind of guy he is, even as a kid he was like that – always looking out for other people, thinking of other people – totally selfless. He’s the perfect heroic type, always sacrificing for others, fighting villains, the whole shebang…kind of like Superman, but dinkier, with messy hair and glasses, you know, like Superman’s alter ego, that chap that Hermione fancies in that show on the telly – oh, yeah, Clark Kent, that’s it. You know, that show has really gone done the tube since like, second season, but let’s not get started on that.

In retrospect, I should have known. Even heroes need to have their secrets, and I guess this was his. I certainly didn’t expect it. I don’t think any of us could have expected it.
